If tech companies really want smartwatches to be part of the future, it might help if they started by making them a little more visually accessible and less future-gadget-forward.
Thankfully, a number of watchmakers agree with us on this point, California-based Misfit among them.
An analog-style ticker with brains, the Misfit Command Hybrid Smartwatch has many of the same functions of a more overstated smartwatch — email and texts alerts, handles incoming calls, control music playback — but doesn’t look as if it belongs at a Star Trek convention.
Featuring a built-in “smart” button that can be used to take a picture or ring a misplaced phone, the Misfit Command Hybrid also tracks steps, distance, calories burned and monitors sleep, all of which is data that can be accessed via Misfit’s app. Also, the watch even tells time.
Enclosed in a stainless steel body with a satin aluminum face, the water-resistant Misfit is powered by a replaceable battery that lasts up to a year and is available in four different styles.
Regularly priced at $150, Misfit is selling the Command Hybrid for $112.50 before Black Friday.
You may want to get one while there’s still, , time.
