THE OSCARS OF WATCHES ARE COMING!
By The Editors

Yesterday, the 15th annual Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) — aka the Oscars of timekeeping — announced the finalists for all 12 categories in competition.

The October 29th ceremony will be presided over by a judging panel of horological luminaries we can get behind. Among them: Dieter Meier — one-half of techno pop team Yello, responsible for the “Oh Yeah” in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off — and KISS drummer Eric Singer, who is apparently a notorious watch hound.

The prestigious categories include High-Mech, Chronograph, Tourbillon, Striking, Mechanical Exception and Petite Aiguille, which awards affordability (read: under 5,000 Swiss Francs).

Here are six of the raddest tickers that made the cut. Warning: mild sticker shock ahead.

BULGARI OCTO FINISSIMO SMALL SECONDS in Pink Gold, $24k
