Next February, Las Vegas will host Super Bowl LVIII — and if previous championship games are any indication, football fans from all across the country will be making their way to Nevada. What’s a frequent traveler to do when heading to Vegas for the Super Bowl? They have plenty of options as far as airlines are concerned. That’s likely one of the reasons why American Airlines recently announced an increase in service — both in terms of the number of flights and the planes involved — to a number of destinations, Las Vegas among them.
What’s especially intriguing for travelers in the northeastern U.S. heading to Vegas for the Super Bowl? The plane used for many of those flights: the Airbus A321T. Writing at The Points Guy, Zach Griff described the A321T as “one of the poshest planes operated by a U.S. airline,” and the reviews we’ve seen of it certainly bear that out.
American plans to use the A321T for trips from New York’s JFK International Airport to Las Vegas, and will run eight special flights on that route during Super Bowl weekend, between February 8 and 12 — with the game taking place on Sunday, February 11.

Is turbulence ahead for budget airlines?New York isn’t the only airport where American Airlines is increasing its number of flights to Las Vegas in anticipation of the Super Bowl. Charlotte and Dallas-Fort Worth will each see a substantial number of additional flights to Las Vegas on February 8, 9 and 10.
Other than the airports previously mentioned, Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Washington, D.C. will also see increased service on American Airlines to Las Vegas in the days leading up to the Super Bowl — and extra flights in the opposite direction on Sunday, February 11 and Monday, February 12.
