Ready your cigarette holder, white bucket hat, and aviator sunglasses. Punch your ticket to Vegas, and don’t forget the booze and psychedelics.

Yes, according to The Hollywood Reporter, MGM TV is developing a series based on the life of author and “gonzo” journalist Hunter S. Thompson. The project, entitled Fear & Loathing—after the same-named 1971 book by Thompson—will be helmed by Get Shorty showrunner Davey Holmes.

In a statement, MGM Television Group president Mark Burnett said: “As we look to the future of MGM Television, it is imperative that we forge long-term relationships with creators who have an eye for dynamic storytelling. Davey is tremendously talented and has demonstrated that he can deliver quality programming that will resonate with viewers.”

Previously, Thompson’s book was turned into a 1998 feature film, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which starred Johnny Depp.
