Here’s all the buzz surrounding Queen B’s new Netflix movie.
The film, which documents Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella headlining performance, features candid footage and interviews from behind the scenes. It premiered at Washington D.C.’s Howard University, a historically black college, and at Houston’s Texas Southern University last night, Pitchfork reported. Written, directed and produced by the singer, Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, was shot over eight months.
Beyoncé also dropped Homecoming: The Live Album early on Wednesday via her husband’s streaming service, Tidal.
Beyoncé’s Coachella set — which is also referred to as “Beychella” — marked the first time an African American woman was the main attraction at the festival since its inception in 1999. Her high-energy performance featured her husband, Jay-Z; sister, Solange; and a reunion of the girl group that launched her career, Destiny’s Child.
