Spring Is Here. Get These Shoes.

When your correspondent was a young man, his father gave him some advice.

“Son,” he said, “whenever you break up with a girl, buy a new shirt. Start fresh.”

Good advice. Applies to changing seasons, too.

Today’s the first day of spring.

Break up with winter with these: Paul Drish, a brand new purveyor of elegant footwear, available now.

Based in New York, Drish sells great-looking leather dress shoes. Very English gent.

Extremely lightweight too. And comfortable from the get-go, thanks to some deeply cushioned insoles.

Three styles that caught our eye:

The Edward Oxford

Your everyday option. Interesting note: The brogue does not have traditional wingtip “V,” but still has the perforations at the toe box. A subtle detail that makes the shoe pop.

The Gabriel Monkstrap

For the adventurous, thanks to an unusual weave. Works well with flashy socks and/or tailored shorts.

The Ian Loafer

A warm-weather tassled loafer for the Wall Street set.

Starting at $275, these shoes are much more affordable than the like-minded St. Crispin’s or Edward Green.

Bonus: PD’s bespoke program allows you to customize footwear from over 100+ leather swatches, mixing and matching any style up to a size 16.

Some big, comfy shoes to fill this season.
