Georgetown is a lot of different things, but it’s probably most well-known for being the District’s official shopping district. The beautiful neighborhood’s ritzy houses are paired alongside some of the best stores in the world, from small boutiques to installations of major brands (and there are plenty of tasty restaurants for when you’ve officially dropped from all the shopping). But with so many shops, prioritizing where to spend your hard-earned dollars can be a little difficult. But we’re here to help. As dedicated menswear experts, we’ve highlighted the best Georgetown shopping in Washington DC to make you feel like a million bucks.

Todd Snyder

One of the finest menswear designers is now in the District. Todd Snyder made his name at J. Crew before branching off to start the brand that shares his name, providing excellent clothing like wonderful knits, striking pants, cozy sweats and some of the best suiting around. This is a great place to stock up on enough different pieces to build out an entire wardrobe all in one go. This is their temporary pop-up location while the flagship goes through some renovations.

Sid Mashburn

The Atlanta-based designer is maybe the nation’s foremost expert in suiting, with his tailoring universally accepted as the creme de le creme. Step inside the impressive space just off of M Street, and you’ll find everything needed to take your Hill-ready suits up a notch, including plenty of head-turning shoes and accessories to match your sharply-tailored suit. There’s plenty of more casual attire, too, if you’re looking to stay classy in or outside the office.

Relish

What we wrote about Relish back in 2022 still remains true. If you’ve got lots of money to drop, this should be your first and last stop. They stock designer pieces that are less avante-garde than major department stores, offering a more accessible way to shop luxe designers. Curated by owner Nancy Pearlstein and her excellent taste, Relish’s selection will make your personal style shine.

3312 Cady’s Alley NW

J. Crew

J. Crew’s menswear offerings have been recently revitalized under Brendon Babenzien’s guidance. As such, the store is well worth visiting for all kinds of essentials and even splashier statement pieces like their giant chinos. If you’ve yet to experience this refreshed version of the ‘Crew, well, consider this a hearty recommendation to check it out and be pleasantly surprised.

Patagonia

One of our finest outdoor brands recently relocated their store to M Street proper, making it all the easier to grab the best gear. Whether it’s cozy, warm fleece jackets for winter or a pair of breezy, five-inch Baggies for those inevitably brutal summer days, Patagonia has it all. Not to mention the store is large enough to host a handful of local events, from documentary screenings to meeting spaces for nonprofits.

That’s to say nothing of their apparel, which can make those runs — whether it’s to the coffee shop or around the National Mall — way more stylish.
