In partnership with Acorn
Growing up in Maine, I got my first pair of Acorn slippers when I could barely walk. Over the years I’ve owned many different styles: standard sheepskin slippers, a slipper-sock combo, slip-ons and moccasins. But for the most part, they’ve always been the Acorn brand. The best thing about slippers is that anyone, no matter where they live, can use them. They’re the perfect gift.
Original Slipper Sock
Astronauts have worn these on shuttle missions and aboard the International Space Station. The integrated slippe-sock is comfortable enough for all-day wear, and the leather bottom is ideal for indoor wear but protective enough if you need to run out to the mailbox
Lightweight Bristol Loafer
I like a slipper that’s as comfortable indoors as it is outdoors, which is why the Bristol is my favorite of the bunch. The combination gum-sole and low profile tweed uppers make them look like a pair of Vans.
Shearling-Lined Romeo Slipper
Easily the most stylish of the bunch, the Romeos are simple but comfortable. The double-faced sheepskin uppers are fully lined in hypoallergenic, biodegradable shearling. The contoured footbed, constructed of CFC-free PU, features an enhanced heel and arch making the most shoelike of the list.
Original Acorn Moccasin
This is the slipper that started it all in 1973. It comes in 11 different colors and is made with a rich textured uppers, suede sidewalls and soft outsoles that are just enough for indoor/outdoor wear. And if they ever get dirty, they’re machine washable.
Recycled Camden Moccasin
These moccasins are made from a blend of 100 percent recycled wool and synthetic yarn. Designed for indoor/outdoor wear, they have an extra cushioned footbed, a durable suede sidewall and a skid-resistant rubber outsole.
Algae Infused Parker Slippers
Algae and slippers don’t normally mix, but Acorn did something unique with the Parker. The secret is in the sole, which is made from harmful algae turned into a safe and stable compound to be used in the versatile indoor/outdoor sole. The recycling of this material helps reduce CO2 emissions and protect freshwater sources.
Explorer Adventure Moc
This is the most adventure-ready slipper I’ve ever seen. They wear kinda like a real shoe with a sturdy rubber sole and a heathered upper that’s treated with DWR so it expels water.
