Sorry Texans and Broncos fans, Tony Romo has apparently called an audible.

ESPN is reporting that the longtime Dallas Cowboys quarterback is leaving the NFL for the broadcasting booth.

While Romo has struggled with injuries in recent seasons and seen Dak Prescott take over as the Cowboys starter, Romo is the Dallas career leader in touchdown passes and a four-time Pro Bowler. (Particularly impressive for a player who was originally undrafted.)

The Cowboys had held off on cutting Romo in an apparent bid to draw a trade from either the Houston Texans and the Denver Broncos, both in need of a quarterback and both reportedly interested in the veteran signal caller.

CBS, Fox, and NBC have all expressed interest in hiring Romo, who turns 37 this month, as a color commentator.
