We all knew Bryce Harper was going to be very rich after he hit free agency.

Now, thanks to a report from Bruce Levine of 670 The Score, we have an idea of just how rich.

The Washington Nationals outfielder is reportedly looking for at least a 10-year contract that would pay him a minimum of $350 million.

Those figures, which would make Harper the highest-paid player in MLB history, are just the starting point in negotiations for the All-Star.

The current highest-paid player in MLB is Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton at 13 years and $325 million.

As Levine notes, the Chicago Cubs may “make an aggressiveness pursuit of Harper” in order to boost their already potent lineup.

He notes the 26-year-old is an elite hitter (Harper has averaged 32 homers and 91 RBIs per 162 games played) who also has quality baserunning and defensive skills.

Entering his prime, Harper projects to be a cornerstone player for years to come.

“There are other factors to consider here that extend beyond the baseball diamond in a pursuit of Harper,” Levine writes. “The Cubs are in line to launch their own television network for the 2020 season, and having superstars with magnetic personalities will be a huge part of marketing the product.”
