In the wake of Stefon Diggs’ immediately-historic game-winning touchdown against the Saints, Bill Simmons ranked the eight most shocking NFL moments he’s ever seen on The Ringer. Diggs’ play clocked in fourth on the list, behind two plays involving Simmons’ beloved Patriots and one instance of Browns heartbreak. Malcolm Butler’s interception of Russell Wilson to secure Super Bowl XLIX for the Patriots topped the list, followed by Ernest Byner’s tragic fumble that cost the Browns the 1987 AFC Championship game against John Elway. Rounding out the top three might be the most famous play on the list, David Tyree’s helmet catch in XLVI that eventually made the Giants champions and ended the Patriots’ quest for 19-0.
