Georgia police are investigating an alleged home invasion at a home owned by Buffalo Bills star LeSean McCoy that left his ex-girlfriend bruised, bloodied, and sent her to the hospital.
Delicia Cordon, 34, was taken to the hospital on Tuesday morning after McCoy’s home was “specifically targeted” by a lone intruder who allegedly hit her in the face with a firearm and took specific items of jewelry that were given to Cordon by McCoy.
Her lawyer, Tanya Mitchel Graham, said the “male assailant” entered the home with “no signs of forced entry” and also said McCoy had previously told Cordon “she could be robbed” for the jewelry.
Court records show McCoy had been attempting to evict Cordon from the home since last July and a hearing in the matter is scheduled for August.
Before the investigation began, an Instagram post accusing McCoy of physically abusing his ex-girlfriend, child, and dog was posted online.
The post, which appeared to have been put up by a woman named Mia who is believed to be friends with Cordon, was extremely graphic. It was taken down at some point yesterday, but RCL obtained a screenshot beforehand.
In the post, the user also alleged McCoy used illegal performance-enhancing drugs.
“I can’t believe you did this to my best friend!!!!!,” the post read in part. “YOUR KARMA IS GOING TO BE SO REAL!!!!!! The world needs to know what type of animal you really are!!!!!!! This was just her yesterday on the left and now this morning this is her on the right!!!!”
After the post was published yesterday and reports about the investigation began to be published, McCoy denied the allegations and called the claims made against him “baseless and offensive.”
“The preliminary investigation indicates that this residence was specifically targeted by the suspect or suspects, and not a random incident,” police said in the statement provided to ESPN and ABC News. “When officers arrived they found one victim who had been physically assaulted by a lone intruder. During the altercation, the suspect demanded specific items from the victim.”
The Bills and the NFL have both said they are looking into the matter.
