In what could be a sign of things to come, the PGA Tour has announced that every shot by every player in every round of The Players Championship in March in Florida.

The 2020 version of the tournament will have a field of 144 players and broadcasters estimate that offering this new unprecedented level of access will require about 120 cameras, according to The Associated Press.

“Our vision is to bring every short in every PGA Tour golf tournament live and on-demand to our fans,” said Rick Anderson, the chief media officer for the PGA Tour. “And this is the first step to making that happen.”

The wall-to-wall streaming will be available to “PGA Tour Live” subscribers on NBC Sports Gold as well as Amazon Prime members.

Augusta National shot video coverage of every shot from every player at the Masters, but it was only available for viewing after the fact. During The Players Championship broadcast, every shot will be accessible live and subscribers will have to choose which golfer they want to watch.

“You’ll be able to click on any group and watch that group play, and we do that for every golfer in the field,” said Luis Goicouria, the tour’s senior vice president of media. “We’re not viewing it from the perspective of who wants to watch a certain golfer. We’ve known for many years that the future of our sport absolutely involves taking all the content that is happening live and making that available to our audience. In golf, that’s a huge amount of content.”

The move appears as if it is a step toward fans having video access to every player at every tournament on the PGA Tour.
