On Thursday night in San Antonio, a game of bats-sketball broke out at the AT&T Center.

With 7:31 left in the first quarter of the Brooklyn Nets taking on the Spurs in Texas, played had to be stopped after a swarm of bats descended on the court.

Staffers from both teams went after the winged creatures with towels and one San Antonio employee even took to the hardwood with an oversized net.

During the halt in play, fans chanted “Manu, Manu, Manu,” in remembrance of a similar situation in 2009 that saw retired Spur Manu Ginobili swat a Mexican free-tailed bat out of midair.

“It’s just a mouse with wings. When you can’t dunk anymore, you have to find a way to make it into the news,” Ginobili joked at the time. “So that’s what I did. I grabbed a bat. I didn’t think it was a big deal. I’m going to be retiring soon. If anybody has a pest problem …”

Despite the delay, the Spurs were able to knock off the Nets 117-114.
