His comments haven’t always endeared him to network brass, but Stephen A. Smith is a favorite of ESPN’s summer interns – at least the class of 2018.

The results of a survey of 39 of this year’s crop of 55 interns show Smith was picked by 34 percent of the summer help as their “favorite ESPN talent,” more than any other pick.

Following Smith in the survey, the results of which were published in an infographic created by ESPN PR intern Paul Herlihey, were Scott Van Pelt (17 percent) and Michelle Beadle (14 percent).

Despite their age, the interns went old-school when asked about who the GOAT is, with nearly 20 of them selecting Michael, followed by fewer than 10 picking LeBron James and fewer than five taking Derek Jeter.
