Much like he has for the bulk of their careers, LeBron James got the best of Dwayne Wade the final time they faced each other on the court.

The former teammates, who won a pair of NBA championships with Miami, played on Monday night during a game that saw James and the LA Lakers knock off Wade and the Heat 108-105.

Wade had a chance to tie it in the final seconds, but James closed out on him and made the future Hall of Famer jack up an off-balance 3-pointer that bounced off the glass.

“He knew my move at the end that stopped me from getting to my shot,” Wade said. “That’s how well we know each other, man. Just two competitors who enjoy the game of basketball, who love each other and love competing. So I’m glad that in my 16 years that we were on the court together, we was in this game, we’ve made a big impact on and off the court.”

Following the final buzzer, James and Wade embraced – for the last time on the court at least.

Wade, who has announced this will be his final NBA season, scored all 15 of his points in the second half and also had 10 assists and five rebounds.

James, who is in the midst of his first season in LA and has not even hinted at retiring anytime soon, put up 28 points, 12 assists and nine boards.
