One of the hardest hitters on the PGA Tour, Bryson DeChambeau is still a long shot to win the upcoming Professional Long Drivers Association World Championship in Nevada this fall.

The first full-time PGA Tour pro to compete in the event, DeChambeau has -10000 odds to lose the event and is listed at +2000 to win at online sportsbook Sportsbetting.ag. For DeChambeau’s longest drive of the contest, the over/under has been set at 410.5 yards. DeChambeau currently leads the PGA Tour in driving distance at 321.7 yards. His longest drive of the season came in the second round of the Sentry Tournament on the 12th hole, where he hit the ball 414 yards, per ESPN.

Speaking with Golf.com, DeChambeau said he’s been wanting to compete in the event for a long time.

“Competing will be a good test for me, but I really want people to understand that I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t think it would be good for my game overall,” he said. “I will do my best to compete with the best in the long driving world, and it gives me a goal to work for. But I know this will translate to me being able to swing at higher speeds on the course, which as I’ve said many times will make me a better golfer every time I tee it up on the PGA Tour. I’m so grateful the Tour has allowed me to do that.”

In a funny twist, Sportsbetting.ag also has odds on who would win if DeChambeau fought Brooks Koepka in a charity boxing match. Despite seemingly having a weight advantage on Koepka (-180), DeChambeau (+140) is the underdog in that event as well. Fortunately for him, despite the pair’s ongoing feud, such a match is unlikely to happen — though it would almost guarantee one of them would get the top payout from the PGA’s Player Impact Fund.

The Professional Long Drivers Association World Championship will take place in Mesquite from September 27 to October 1. DeChambeau will head to Nevada after he finishes playing in the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin earlier in September.

According to the 27-year-old, prepping for the long drive event won’t impact his prep for the Ryder Cup.

“It will not take any of my attention away from the Ryder Cup,” he told Golf.com. “I am fully dedicated to the Ryder Cup, and it’s something I really care deeply about. Representing Team USA is something I’ve dreamed about since I was a kid. It’s something I get really amped-up thinking about. I want to help bring home the trophy this year, and like I said, I wouldn’t be doing any of this if I didn’t truly believe it would make me a better golfer.”
