What’s an exclusive sex club to do during a pandemic? If you’re Snctm, known for what Page Six described as “erotic parties for the 1 Percent at some of New York’s most luxurious hotels,” you end up taking an unexpected break. Snctm did hold events in the fall, but they were much smaller than their usual gatherings, which have been known to attract well-dressed and masked VIPs.
Now, The Daily Beast reports that Snctm is gearing up for its largest event since the pandemic began: one featuring 80 people at a large residence in lower Manhattan. Staff will be wearing masks, and attendees won’t be able to get in without proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test.
It’s also been sold out since shortly after it was announced. “This one sold out the fastest than I can recall,” SNCTM manager Robert (no last name given) told The Daily Beast’s Marlow Stern.
For those were able to obtain admission, most paid between $500 and $8,000 for entry. The most popular option was a couples’ ticket, priced at $1,500 if it’s your first Snctm event. Snctm members can get in for free; an annual membership, however, costs up to $50,000 annually and has a rigorous screening process.
As signs of a return to relative normalcy go, a VIP sex party gearing back up for a big event might not be the first thing that comes to mind — but it certainly seems to be signifying something.
