From this day forward, the name of the game is layers.

Because when you say, “Alexa, what’s the weather today?” and she responds, “A high of 80 and a low of 61,” dressing appropriately gets complicated.

Luckily, freshly opened Soho joint The Local has all the trappings you need for a fail-safe summer-to-fall outfit.

Located at 26 Greene St., the Local is the brainchild — and first NYC brick and mortar — of Aussie multi-brand retailer General Pants Co.

“After the success of our first U.S. store in LA, we were keen for more,” says CEO Craig King. “Of course we wanted to open in New York, but with so many exciting boroughs, the question was ‘Where?’ After considerable exploration, we finally found our ideal location. Like LA, there’s an abundance of expats in the area, but as we found on La Brea, our American friends and many tourists found the all-Aussie offering something fresh to get into.”

Among their fashionable but thoroughly casual offering you’ll find in-store: Ksubi, Insight, Zanerobe, Henson and the design-forward Black Noise White Rain.

From chinos to bombers, T-shirts to crewneck sweaters, we picked out five go-to transitional pieces from their all-killer, no-filler offerings.

The trousers: Zanerobe Salerno Chino
We’re longtime fans of anything Zanerobe has to say in the trouser department. The whole collection will take a fella just about anywhere — that doesn’t require a coat — from brunch to a foxy date. And this updated chino follows suit.

The basic tee: Zanerobe Flintlock Tee
You’re going to need a base to build on, and no one is going to argue with an ultra-soft, long-enough tee in black. comes in white.

The button-up: Ksubi Trop Motel Short Sleeve
We’ve fallen hard for this satiny number. It’s one part Aloha shirt, one part Friday night.

The sweatshirt: Ksubi Seeing Lines Sweat
It’s simple enough to not get in the way of the but interesting enough to get noticed when it counts. A no-nonsense nighttime-chill fighter.

The jacket: Ksubi Dank Bomber Chark
Classic and lightweight, you can’t go wrong with this bomber. It’ll fetch when you need it, but it’s not so bulky that’ll get in your way when you’re toting it around on those days that turn into nights.
