What the world’s smallest first-person-view drone lacks in emotion, it makes up for in technological prowess: the engineers at Axis have packed the little guy with the ability to fly at three different speeds for up to seven minutes while shooting video on a single 20-minute charge. Prospective pilots can control the miniature flyer with a smartphone, tablet or the included 2.4 gHz controller and stream or record video and photos in 420p with the installed camera.
To protect against shaky hands, the VIDIUS is also equipped with six-axis gyro stabilization, while the drone’s pre-programmed “trick mode” algorithm can help you (pretend to) channel your inner Red Baron. There’s also no FAA registration required, although we still don’t recommend rolling in hot on President Obama’s motorcade any time soon.
