You can keep telling your kids not to play with their food, but face it — you’re the one who made airplane noises with the spoon.
Here to inject some play into gourmet: Le Grand Fooding, a five-day festival serving up eats in creative locations, tickets onsale today.
Starting Sept 19th, the French-born festival’s Brooklyn-wide celebrations include:
- Le Clicquot Brooklyn Tour – Enjoy four nights of champagne-fueled dinners when NY heavyweights like Frankies Spuntino and M. Wells team up with talent from far-flung restos, e.g., Charleston’s Husk and London’s Spitalfields. The venues range from Vinegar Hill House to a Civil War-era warehouse turned sprawling art center.
- Darkness with a Chance of Piperade – Williamsburg’s NiteHawk Cinema will host two cult-film brunches including BK foodstuffs like Mast Brothers Chocolate, Salvatore BKLYN ricotta, and Early Bird granola, plus the Basque specialty piperade from the chef of Paris’s Le Chateaubriand.
- Luncheon in the Dust – Two days of picnics at both Brooklyn Fleas will be cheffed by Paris hotspot Septime, BK ice cream gurus Van Leeuwen, and Faviken, the legendary farmhouse restaurant in Sweden’s snowy hinterlands.
If that’s not enough to slake your gluttony, there’s also an exclusive “Campfire Session” with cocktails by Maison Premiere and performances by Mos Def and the Beastie Boys’ Mike D.
You can practice the art of cheering with your mouth full.
