Showtime has released a trailer for Risk, a new documentary by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Laura Poitras that follows WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange across six years.
With the spotlight including the role of the cyber site’s role in the 2016 presidential election.
With “unprecedented” access to Assange, isn’t the first time Poitras has expertly covered mass surveillance, leaks and whistleblower journalism. Along with Glenn Greenwald, Poitras helped break the Edward Snowden story in 2013. She subsequently won an Oscar for the 2014 documentary Citizenfour, which was the result of that access.
