It isn’t hard to see the appeal of tiny houses — whether they’re thought of as a way to address the housing crisis or simply as a showcase for innovative design. As an article at Insider revealed, a Latvian startup called My Cabin recently began selling its homes in the United States. It’s an expansion after several years of selling exclusively to European buyers.
There are two things that are especially of interest from My Cabin’s array of designs. The first are the designs themselves, which are stylish and minimalist, with windows that let in plenty of natural light and high ceilings that maximize the available space. The other is the company’s interest in making its designs work together — in other words, if the idea of living in a compound of small buildings is of interest to you, you’ve come to the right place.
This includes one combination of three structures — a living space, a working space and a sauna — with prices there beginning at $175,000.
This New Company Is Selling Ready-Made, Tiny Houses for Your Backyard
Airbnb cofounder Joe Gebbia has just launched his latest venture, Samara, in California. If you’re only in the market for a single structure, prices can vary dramatically. The standalone sauna (aka My Galia) begins at $37,500, while the largest single structure — all 516 square feet of the My Milla Long — ranges from $130,000 to $140,000. Could one of these be the tiny house you’ve been waiting for?
