The luxe New York City apartment where Tom Brady likely got dressed up as an evil magician prior to the Met Gala earlier this month is on the market.
Located on the 48th floor of One Madison in New York’s Flatiron District, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment was purchased by Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen for $11.7 million in 2014, according to the Boston Globe.

After buying the 3,310-square-foot condo, Brady and Bundchen hired architect Peter Marino to customize it with upgrades such as double bronze doors, wide-plank floors, bespoke wooden build-outs, floor-to-ceiling windows, detailed plasterwork and an elaborate paint job.
Originally listed for $17.25 million, the condo is back on the market for $13.95 million with Sotheby’s International Realty handling the listing.
“One Madison is an interesting building because you have four unobstructed exposures which give you the entire north and south skyline and views of both rivers. It’s very hard to find that uptown or down,” Sotheby’s senior global real estate advisor Michael Bolla told RealClearLife. “It also blends into the landscape very well. You kind of feel alone when you’re up there.”
Bolla, who wasn’t part of the 2014 purchase of the property, said the listing has generated an “unusual” amount of attention, even by celebrity standards, since it came back on the market earlier this month. And not just because of Brady and Bundchen.
“We have very solid interest from a number of qualified people,” Bolla said. “We have people coming from Russia, Korea and China. I showed it last night for example, and the couple knew who the owners were, but that’s not why they were there. They were there because of Peter Marino and wanted to see what he had done to the apartment and appreciated the value of what he’d done.”
Given the nature of the finishes in the apartment and the quality of the materials that were used, Bolla estimates the renovations Brady and Bundchen made cost at least $2 million.
“They have very good taste,” Bolla said. “The apartment is done well and it’s very comfortable. Maybe had he not been so tall, that wouldn’t have been the case. The aesthetic is sophisticated but subtle at the same time. It’s not ostentatious or garish. All the materials that were used are genuine. There’s an authenticity that comes through and maybe that’s because they’re authentic people.”
Despite the lure of that authenticity, the Brady/Bundchen connection alone won’t lead to a sale.
“With this particular couple, everyone seems to like them. Even in the building, they seem to be liked. Sometimes with celebrities there’s just a sense of awe,” Bolla said. “But I don’t expect anyone to pay an extra million dollars because the apartment belonged to anyone.”
Especially not a Giants or Jets fan.
