Even though it’s permanently welded to a 24-foot trailer, the Sky Palace does more with 200 square feet than some houses do with 1,000.

The reclaimed pine exterior with a custom blue stain and steel trim is reminiscent of Davy Crockett, but once inside, things look a good deal more refined.

The interior opens to a full kitchen with gas range that any cook worth his salt could work with. The decor includes wall coverings made from antique 19th-century pressed tin from a Nebraska prison — emphasizing an old-timey feel that takes inspiration from the old mining towns of the Colorado Rockies. A minute fireplace, meanwhile, reminds you this is a cabin that can and should be taken to the wilderness for some R-and-R.

All these rustic accents are nicely balanced by a modern bathroom and appliances, the former of which inexplicably has a $1,000 solid brass shower head. It’s also surprisingly spacious (it has more counter space than the kitchen). Sleeping quarters are on the main floor and feature a comfortable queen-size walk-around bed that conveniently converts into two lounge chairs, while a loft with a built-in ladder is suitable for either storage or a second bedroom.

Could you see yourself hitting the road in this? It’s for sale for $74,000 via Tiny House Listings.
