Lefthand turns at four-way intersections often make new drivers nervous and for good reason: They’re risky and inefficient. The “Diverging Diamond” Intersection, or DDI, is a creative way of improving high-speed intersections. With shorter distances to cross and more frequent crosswalks, pedestrian safety is increased.
