It’s officially been cold for three days.
Permission granted to start planning your spring vacation.
Good place to start: just launched camping concierge Tentrr, now taking reservations Upstate and certain to book up with a quickness.
What to expect: try 12 acres of private Catskills land with all your amenities set up before your arrival: safari-style canvas tent, table, chairs, air beds and an outhouse.
Launching in the Mid-Atlantic and New England later this year with plans to expand west, Tentrr is currently available in New York only. Here are the three destinations that have us dreaming of April showers and May flowers.
Quarry Pond Camp
Pond Eddy, NY
Expect year-round bald eagle and wildlife sightings. Good for hiking and a quick jaunt away from the Delaware River, with wineries, farmers markets and canoe trips in day-tripping distance.
Mountaintop
Hobart, NY
This one’s got the horizon-to-horizon skyline views you’re after. Easy to get to, but far from any bustle. And a choice spot for kayaking, biking, hiking and fishing.
Three Whiskers Camp
Delhi, NY
Stationed on a 125-year-old dairy farm, this site offers meadow views and a ready-made fire pit. Excellent for fishing, hiking, hunting or doing absolutely nothing.
