For several years, you had but one chance to scope out all your favorite watch “microbrands” under one roof — if you missed the weekend-long show at Chelsea Market in New York City, you were S.O.L. Thankfully, these days Worn & Wound provides you with several opportunities to check out the latest and greatest in boutique watch brands (with some larger watch brands thrown in for good measure).
This July, you can experience the best in affordable, fun, and (largely) independent watchmaking at WindUp Watch Fair in Chicago. Held at Venue West, 221 N. Paulina Street in the Windy City from 7/14-7/16, this edition is set to be a doozy, with well over 40 brands participating. Lead and key sponsors include large brands such as CITIZEN and Oris, but of course, there are also plenty of microbrands on offer, from Itay Noy to Nodus to Monta and beyond.
If you’re looking for a unique and relatively affordable watch or simply want to chat with fellow watch nerds — and watch business owners — there’s nothing in the industry quite like WindUp. It’s fun, it’s carefree, it’s cheerful — what’s not to like? Plus, there’s cool programming throughout, such as talks, get-togethers, and more. Come out to WindUp Chicago and have an horological blast!
