They were originally slated to air around Christmas, but Jeopardy! fans will finally get a chance to see Alex Trebek’s last episodes this week.
The episodes, recorded before Trebek passed away from pancreatic cancer in November, will now run from Monday through Friday of this week (Jan. 4 through Jan. 8) after being bumped “due to anticipated preemptions.” A representative for Sony told The Wrap that the episodes were pushed back “in order to give his millions of fans a chance to see his final appearances.”
The Sony rep also told the publication that the week of shows will begin on Monday with a “powerful message about the season of giving” and wrap up on Friday with “a special tribute to the life and work of the man who captained America’s Favorite Quiz Show with skill, style, and sophistication for 36+years.”
The shows will air during Jeopardy!‘s regular timeslot on ABC (check your local listings), and the program will continue to air new episodes with interim host Ken Jennings taking over for Trebek beginning on Jan. 11. They have not yet named a permanent replacement.
