Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who has been sidelined since mid-November from season-ending hip surgery after being injured at Mississippi State, has yet to decide if he’ll declare himself eligible for the NFL draft in April.

But, the 21-year-old has decided when his decision is coming: Monday.

“I’ll be making my decision on the 6th.” Tagovailoa wrote on Twitter following Alabama’s 35-16 victory over Michigan in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl. “God bless and Roll Tide.”

Tagovailoa, who has thrown 87 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions in 32 career games for the Crimson Tide, is expected to make a full recovery from his injury. Despite that, thanks to missing so much of his junior season, it is possible Tagovailoa will return to Alabama for his senior season.

The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft is January 17.

“That’s a decision that I think his family needs to make,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said following the Tide’s win at the Citrus Bowl. “And I’m sure when they make that decision, they’ll let everybody know. I think it’s our responsibility and our job to make sure that we give them all the information from an NFL standpoint, from a medical standpoint, from a rehab standpoint. And if there is any way that he could possibly be devalued because of his injury, what are the consequences of that and how does that affect his decision and what he does in the future. But he’s been a great leader for us. He’s a great player on our team. He was elected captain of the team by his teammates. And we just want what’s best for him.”

The projected No. 1 overall draft pick prior to the college football season, Tagovailoa has fallen behind Heisman-winning quarterback Joe Burrow out of LSU on many draft boards and some pundits even have him behind Utah State QB Jordan Love.

If Tagovailoa does decide to come out, the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers are all potential landing spots.
