It doesn’t seem possible, but the arsenal of the NBA’s most dominant player has gotten even deadlier this season.
According to data from Basketball Reference, LeBron James – not Steph Curry, James Harden or Damian Lillard – is the best long-range shooter in the NBA this season.
Through Monday, James had made 52.3 percent of his shots from 28 feet or farther away from the basket, the best mark from that distance anyone has shot since the 2000-01 season.
Amongst the 90 players who have attempted shots from 28 feet or farther this season, the collective field-goal average is just 27.2 percent, meaning James is almost twice as accurate as the average long-distance sniper.
Interestingly enough, James is shooting 35 percent from inside 28 feet – 17.3 percentage points lower than his average from outside that range.
