Following a league-worst 3-15 start over the first three weeks of the MLB season, the Cincinnati Reds canned manager Bryan Price.
It’s not going to happen, but if ESPN reacted similarly to the first three weeks for new morning show Get Up, hosts Mike Greenberg, Michelle Beadle and Jalen Rose would be out of work.
After drawing 283,000 viewers for its debut episode, the ratings for “Get Up” have been going down as this past Wednesday’s show pulled in only 243,000 viewers.
It has only been three weeks, but Get Up is down more than 15% year-over-year compared to the show it replaced, the Jemele Hill/Michael Smith-anchored version of SportsCenter.
For a show that is paying out $14.5 million combined to its hosts, that is not a good sign.
“As unbelievably awful as shows like Undisputed and First Take are, people are at least talking about them, even if they’re mocking them,” Sports Illustrated writes. “The savages on social media aren’t even doing that with Get Up. It’s just … there.”
