PGA Tour’s Adam Scott Say LIV Isn’t “Pure Evil” for the “Game of Golf”

So...just partially evil?

As the PGA Tour and LIV Golf continue to trade blows in the courtroom, some players from the rival tours have been trading barbs via the media as they have for months.

PGA Tour member Adam Scott, who is currently ranked No. 30 in the world, is not one of those players as he actually came to the defense of the Saudi-backed tour that his fellow Australian Gren Norman presides over by admitting that LIV Golf is not unfiltered wickedness.

“Maybe because I’m a little less emotive about it, I can be a voice of reason for one side or another,” the 2013 Masters champion told reporters on Friday. “I don’t necessarily see LIV as just pure evil for the game of golf. Hopefully we can get beyond people having shots at each other and each organization can move on with what they want to do. I believe the PGA Tour has to do what’s best for their product and LIV is going to do what is best for their product. I don’t have a problem with either of them.”

Scott, 42, would seem like an ideal fit for LIV Golf as he could slot in nicely on the upstart circuit’s all-Australian team, which is captained by his countryman Cameron Smith and also has PGA defector Marc Leishman on the roster. However, although Scott said he “completely” understands ditching the PGA Tour for LIV, he doesn’t sound ready to make the jump.

“They have been offered an opportunity and it suits them. More power to them,” he said of Smith and Leishman. “I really want it to work out for them. They may or may not be taking a risk. As far as Cam and Leish recruiting me, they’ve got plenty of cash now so they’re more than welcome to make me an offer…I probably haven’t been able to put myself in a position where I’m willing to give up trying to win major championships.”
