In the wake of the watch controversy which has followed him throughout the first two weeks of the season, Odell Beckham Jr. has decided it’s time to make the switch from Richard Mille to Daniel Wellington.

Beckham, who wore a $200k Mille watch on the field during Week 1 and a $2 million timepiece from the brand during warmups in Week 2, joined up with Wellington on an endorsement deal as one of the brand’s new icons.

“We are so proud to work with OBJ, who besides from being an amazing athlete clearly loves watches,” Wellington wrote on Twitter. “If we’re his second choice after a six-figure watch, we’re happy.”

Prior to the brand announcing the partnership, Beckham hinted something could be happening with the Swedish watchmaker during his post-game comments on Monday.

“I think Daniel Wellington might be a better watch than these, a little classier, not as flashy as this one,” Beckham said while wearing a Richard Mille 56-02 Tourbillon Sapphire. “I’m just blessed.”

Beckham elaborated on the partnership yesterday after it was announced.

The Browns (1-1) will take on the undefeated Los Angeles Rams in Cleveland in Week 3 on Sunday Night Football.
