After coming to blows at midfield at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, it sounds as if Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey and New York Giants receiver Golden Tate will not be disciplined by their teams.
On Monday, Giants coach Joe Judge said the team will not discipline Tate for Sunday’s postgame fight and that the veteran wideout was defending himself after Ramsey threw the first punch.
LA head coach Sean McVay also spoke on Monday and said any team response to Ramsey’s actions would be handled internally by the Rams.
“I spoke to him, and (I was) just making sure that we’re all on the same page that we can’t allow some of those things to get in the way and have something bad happen for yourself or this football team,” McVay said. “These are grown men, and I didn’t get into the he-said, she-said.”
While it is still possible the league could step in and hand down a fine to Tate and/or Ramsey, McVay said he hasn’t heard anything from the NFL regarding discipline for the fracas.
The two Nashville-area natives have a history of bad blood between them stemming from Ramsey ending a relationship with Tate’s sister Breanna, a woman he has two children with, while she was pregnant.
