College football recruits have been able to sign National Letters of Intent over the last three days thanks to a new December signing period, and Sports Illustrated has evaluated the winners and losers. College Football Playoff teams Clemson and Georgia head into the new year in high spirits, having grabbed four and three of the top 10 recruits in the country, respectively. Georgia fans can get excited about quarterback Justin Fields, who is ranked as the second-best player in the class of 2018. The Florida Gators also found a quarterback in Emory Jones, a four-star recruit. On the losers side, SI’s Chris Johnson highlights Alabama, the powerhouse of all powerhouses. Despite still securing an excellent recruiting class, the Crimson Tide lost top recruits to Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
