Our national pastime’s national nightmare is over.

With spring training already underway for most MLB clubs, the biggest prize of the offseason – Bryce Harper – has finally found a home.

As first reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Thursday, the Philadelphia Phillies have won the Harper sweepstakes and are in the process of finalizing a 13-year, $330 million deal with the outfielder.

With the contract, Harper beats the 10-year, $300 million deal  infielder Manny Machado inked with the Padres and current Yankee Giancarlo Stanton’s 13-year, $325 million extension with the Marlins.

The 26-year-old’s contract with the Phillies does not contain any opt-outs but it does include a no-trade clause.

Harper, the 2015 National League MVP, is a six-time All-Star and was the NL Rookie of the Year in 2012. Over his career, he has a .279 average with 184 homers, 521 RBIs, and a .388 on-base percentage.

“Because the player is entering the prime of his career, you’re really talking about a unique and rare opportunity,” his agent, Scott Boras said entering free agency. “Anyone who’s done what Bryce Harper has done at 25, if you’ve done that, you’re almost a lock to be a Hall of Fame player.”

Harper became a free agent after turning down a $17.9 million qualifying offer from the Washington Nationals.
