Author Challenges President Trump to Golf After Accusing Him of Cheating

Rick Reilly wants to play the "Commander in Cheat" in a $100,000 golf match.

After accusing him of cheating at golf, an author is challenging Donald Trump to a round of golf with $100,000 on the line.

Rick Reilly, who released Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump this week, made his challenge to Trump during a Tuesday appearance on MSNBC.

“I want to play him,” Reilly said. “I think I’m a 4.5 [handicap]. He’s a 2.8. If he plays the 2.8, I’ll play him for 100 grand, [with the money going to] either of our charities. But the rule is, we can’t play his course, we can’t use his cheating caddies and there’s gotta be a rule guy with each of us, and I’ll play him all day.”

Reilly said he’d donate the money to a charity of Trump’s choice if he was able to win the match.

“He cheats crazy, he cheats whether you’re watching or not, he cheats whether you like it or not,” Reilly said of Trump. “He tried to cheat Tiger Woods in a match, Tiger hits it like this, he hits two balls in the water, doesn’t count either and pretends that he almost tied Tiger Woods. So it doesn’t matter who he is, he has to be the winner.”

In addition to the comments, Reilly also went after Trump with his own particular brand of humor on Twitter.

As of now, Trump has not responded to Reilly on Twitter, his preferred medium of communication.

“That’s a terrible thing to say about people, especially me,” Trump said of cheating allegations in 2015. “I don’t drop balls, I don’t move balls. I don’t need to.”
