President Trump made an appearance at Game 5 of the World Series at Nationals Park last night (Oct. 27), his first at a major league baseball game since taking office, and….well, we can see why he waited so long.
Trump was met with enthusiastic boos when he appeared on the video screen at the park, and fans broke out into chants of “Lock him up! Lock him up!”

Several fans also displayed banners calling for his removal from office during the game. One “IMPEACH TRUMP” banners were hung near both left and right field, and at one point a “VETERANS FOR IMPEACHMENT” sign was spotted behind home plate.

The banners were eventually confiscated by security. Perhaps anticipating the reception he got, Trump declined to throw out the first pitch at the game. He is the only president since 1910 to not throw out a first pitch at either Opening Day, the All-Star Game or the World Series. Trump didn’t bother to stick around for the end of the game, either; he reportedly left in the eighth inning at around 10:50 p.m. The game ended at 11:30.
