Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore released footage he shot in February 2017 that shows the mail bombing suspect, Cesar Sayoc, at a Florida Trump rally.
Moore described the now-arrested Trump fanatic as appearing “overdosed on steroids in what looks like some desperate attempt to hang on to what was left of his manhood,” in an Instagram post published Sunday.
The director said he told his crew not to film the President for his recently released anti-Trump film, Fahrenheit 11/9, and to instead focus on his fervent supporters, like Sayoc.
“Our footage of Mr. Sayoc would never make it into the final cut of what would be the film that is now in its last week in cinemas across America,” Moore wrote in his post. “But I’d like to share it with you, if only to give you a momentary glimpse of him in action.
“You’ve seen the photos of him on the news over the past couple days — a slight, normal, everyday American,” he continued. “But those are from before. Here with our footage I can show you what he had actually become.”
Along with photos of several Democratic lawmakers and the CNN logo, Sayoc had an image of Moore’s face encircled in firearm crosshairs displayed on the side of his van at the time of his arrest.
