Six weeks after the double murder of Canadian billionaire Barry Sherman and his philanthropist wife, Honey, Toronto police revealed that the evidence suggests the couple was specifically targeted.

The 75-year-old pharmaceutical giant and his wife, 70, were found dead on Dec. 15 in their Toronto mansion —two days after they were last seen by friends. There were no signs of forced entry. Police also confirmed during Friday’s press conference that  the Shermans’ fully-clothed bodies were discovered hanging by belts from a poolside railing, according to The National Post.

Barry Sherman was the founder of the generic drug company Apotex, and his high-profile status is complicating the investigation. “Legal complexities in some executions have been challenging given the litigious nature of Barry Sherman’s businesses, in particular the search and seizure of electronics in Barry Sherman’s workspace at Apotex,” a police spokesperson said.
