Everyone wants Jeffrey Epstein to be their dad this Father’s Day, and they’d like to celebrate with a cut of their late father’s $634 million estate.
A legal service based in Florida looking for potential Epstein heirs told the Sun it has been contacted by nearly 400 people since setting up operations shortly after Epstein’s death last August, with at least 130 respondents claiming to be the late financier’s offspring.
The numerous paternity claims follow a New York Times report last summer that claimed Epstein hoped to “seed the human race with his DNA” by impregnating hundreds of women.
“Jeffrey Epstein was sexually promiscuous for so long that there is a reasonable chance he may have fathered a child,” said Harvey Morse, founder of Epsteinheirs.com. “He could even be a grandfather.”
Claims from around the world have reportedly come from the US, Caribbean and France, where Epstein had homes, and include women claiming to have become pregnant after one-night stands or attending sex parties with Epstein.
Morse said that anyone with a believable claim is required to petition a US court for a DNA test to confirm their claim.
“About a quarter of the calls have required investigation but so far we have not felt confident to take any further,” he told the Sun. “Having said that, you never know who is going to call each day.”
