Giant Cow in Australia Stands More than Six Feet Tall

Weighing in at a whopping 3,086 pounds and standing over 76 inches tall is the 7-year-old Australian cow, “Knickers.”

For scale, the giant Holstein-Friesian that’s known by his owner, at least, as Australia’s largest cow, is as tall as basketball great Michal Jordan, CNN reported.

Knickers, a dairy cow, towers above the rest of his herd at the farm where he lives in Myalup, Western Australia. Typical cattle breeds like Knickers grow to be about 1,500 pounds large and 58 inches tall at the shoulder, to compare. But his large size is, ironically his saving grace.

“He was too big to go into the export plant’s chain,” his owner, Geoff Pearson, told ABC News Australia. We have a high turnover of cattle and he was lucky enough to stay behind.”
