And the loser is…

On the weekend when the best of Hollywood is celebrated at the Oscars, the Golden Raspberry Awards, better known as the Razzies, were announced to honor the absolute worst the film industry had to offer in 2017.

The 1,000 voting members seemed especially animated about The Emoji Movie, which dominated this year’s Razzies netting worst picture, screen combo, director and screenplay. Worst actor went to Tom Cruise for his horror-able turn in The Mummy while worst actress was bestowed on Tyler Perry for Boo! 2: A Medea Halloween.  In a little bit of a surprise, the critically-reviled Fifty Shades Darker only received two statuettes, for worst supporting actress Kim Basinger and for worst remake, rip-off or sequel.
