Early ratings data for Sunday night’s Oscars suggest a viewership drop, according to Variety. Though full Nielsen data are yet to be released, first reports indicate a 16% drop during primetime hours between the 2017 and 2018 broadcasts. The current numbers do not include viewership after 11 pm EST, a time period in which the best picture, best actor, and best actress awards were announced. ABC’s Oscars audience exceeded the other three major networks combined on Sunday night.
