Football season is finally here, and when fans pack into the stadiums this year, many of them will finally have some options that extend beyond a $15 Bud Light. (Though, if that’s what you’re into, those aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.) Anheuser-Busch’s $1.5 billion partnership with the NFL runs through the 2022 season, and as Forbes points out, the company is branching out with the league by offering team-branded brews from its craft beer brands.
On Tuesday, September 3, Golden Road Brewing announced its special Los Angeles Rams-branded beer, Whose House?! Blonde Ale, becoming the latest in the series of partnerships between Anheuser-Busch-owned craft breweries and their local NFL teams. Others include Elysian Brewing’s Seattle Seahawks-inspired pale ale, The Noise; Devils Backbone’s #ATTR (Ale to the Redskins) gold and burgundy ales; Breckenridge Brewery’s United in Orange, a Denver Broncos-branded pale ale; and the Arizona Cardinals’ Red Bird Lager by Four Peaks Brewing.
“We wouldn’t be doing our jobs if we ignored the increase in consumption of the craft category,” Jack Blake, senior brand manager of craft marketing at Anheuser-Busch, told Front Office Sports. “Obviously, the likes of the bigger brands will never go away from sports, but the way craft sets itself apart is by bringing a more locally authentic, unique and creative experience to the sports industry.”
