A sequel to the hit mid-aughts, cringeworthy comedy Borat has reportedly been shot in secret.
As well, the unexpected follow-up to Sacha Baron Cohen’s 2006 mockumentary has already been screened “for a few select industry types,” according to Collider.
Since the title character is now too recognizable to pull off any staged events, one insider claims the new movie is more about “Cohen playing Borat playing Cohen,” but that plot line hasn’t been confirmed. There’s also no word on director or distributor yet, though there are rumors a release could be targeted before the election.
Earlier this year Cohen pranked an alt-right rally; more recently, the actor was spotted filming in character.
