Sandra Lee Has Won the Andrew Cuomo Breakup

In certain circles, the measure of which party “won” their breakup is not so much determined by who moves on first, but rather who is embroiled in a damning public sex scandal and who is vacationing in St. Tropez with their hot new Algerian boyfriend. Congratulations are in order to Sandra Lee, ex-girlfriend of disgraced governor Andrew Cuomo and former host of one of the most low-key unhinged shows to ever grace the Food Network, who has found herself in the latter role while her ex scrambles to save his reputation by rather counterintuitively reminding the world how often he touches people.

Per Page Six, Lee has found herself a new beau in Ben Youcef, who is an “Algerian interfaith leader, actor, writer and producer” nearly a decade her junior, and the first man Lee has dated since her 14-year relationship with Cuomo ended back in 2019. For a while there, Lee did not seem like a favorable front-runner for winning the breakup. A seemingly heart-broken Lee moved across the country, reportedly to escape the torturous memories of her failed relationship, and just a few months later women were declaring themselves “Cuomosexuals” while the entire state of New York inexplicably jerked itself off to the governor’s COVID-19 response.

Nearly two years after their split, however, the tables have turned dramatically (and ironically) in Lee’s favor, finding her traipsing about St. Tropez with her hot new boyfriend, à la Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, while her reproached ex battles an increasingly damning sex scandal and licks the wounds from his precipitous fall from grace.

It’s important to note that none of this is to make light of the sexual misconduct allegations leveled against Cuomo or the abuse his alleged victims have suffered. Lee herself is far from gloating over the tragic circumstances surrounding her ex’s demise, and has reportedly found the scandal “tremendously horrible and painful,” according to a Page Six source.

In the meantime, however, what better way to escape the horror and pain of the very public revelation of your ex’s cheating and abuse than by quietly flexing on that disgraced asshole with your new boyfriend on the French Riviera? On behalf of the entire world, I would just like to say that I’m really happy for Sandra Lee.
