And on with the picks…
Saturdays NYC Basket Suit
I’ve been looking to refresh my suit game. Something that’s smart-casual and won’t break the bank. Saturdays’ new basket-weave suit fits the bill. Loving the chunky weave knit look and the patch pockets. I’m going for khaki, but it’s available in black, too. — Michael Nolledo, Deputy Editor/Chicago Editor
Pillow of Health
Pillows are kind of like offensive linemen in the NFL: they’re big, fluffy and you’ll probably only ever learn their name or notice ‘em if they aren’t doing what they’re supposed to do. That’s not the case with the Pillow of Health, a fully customizable slumber enhancer that allows you to adjust its fill level as you see fit. Also, for each one sold, Pillow of Health will donate a second to a child with cancer. — Evan Bleier, News Editor
Hario v60 Buono Power Kettle
The electric version of the kettle you see in artisanal coffee shops — and since I’m about that coffee life, I had to see if it was really worth it. The narrow spout gives a very precise pour, and it heats to boiling in a moment. Because early mornings go a little easier when you don’t have to mind the stove. — Athena Wisotsky, Senior Editor
Mosso Pro 18″ Desk Lamp
I stayed in an Airbnb with this desk lamp, and tracked it down as soon as soon as I left. It does everything: the direction of light can be adjusted any which way, and the quality of light can be adjusted from orange-warm to blue-cool (or anywhere in between). There’s even an “occupancy sensor” — give it 15 minutes without movement, and it’ll shut itself off. Best of all, there’s a USB charger at the back of the base. — Diane Vadino, San Francisco Editor
Mission Belt Men’s Canvas Ratchet Belt
If there’s one accessory I’m not stressing over, it’s my belt. And if there’s one popular show I’m definitely not watching, it’s Shark Tank. (Real “titans of industry” aren’t delivering zingers on ABC, they’re smoking Cubans on megayachts.) So I was pleasantly surprised to find this belt popularized by the TV show is not only legit, the canvas and bronze buckle version is also my new go-to with denim. — Alex Lauer, Associate Editor
Apollo VII–Apollo XVII: Photographs
If the moon landing was faked, someone needs get the guys behind it a job in photo editing, stat. This 320-page full-color book is a firsthand account of the eight manned Apollo missions NASA launched between 1968 and 1972. Shot with a modified Hasselblad 70mm camera, the images paint a stunning portrait of the most extreme destination humans have ever encountered. Er, possibly encountered. — Walker Loetscher, Editor-in-Chief
STOLEN Smoked Rum
From what we remember of last night, this stuff is great … — Kirk Miller, Managing Editor/Nation Editor
Beoplay H4 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones
Everyone in the headphone game tries to meld quality sound with innovative design. Only some accomplish the feat perfectly. Such is the case here. The sound is crystal clear, and the design is forward without being brash. And the Beoplays excel in blocking out any headache-inducing noise while being light enough to not weigh you down, even with extended wear. — Shari Gab, New York Editor
