The U.S. Department of Defense has released video footage capturing the moment a 22,000-pound bomb exploded Thursday in Afghanistan.
The massive ordnance air blast (MOAB) bomb, nicknamed the “mother of all bombs,” is the most powerful non-nuclear weapon ever used in combat, according to ABC News. This is the first time the bomb has been used since it was developed in 2003.
The colossal explosion killed up to 36 ISIS militants and no civilians, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense said, according to the Associated Press.
